About Me- Carly
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with over 10 years’ experience of working in NHS Talking Therapies services prior to moving into private practice. I believe strongly in offering a collaborative, tailored approach to therapy. We are all individuals with different personalities, identities, needs and life experiences. CBT is often seen as a ‘one size fits all’ therapy. My experience of working with humans from all walks of life has shown me that therapy works best when we adapt it to the person. As a neurodivergent person myself, I understand how challenging it can be trying to fit into a box when the box simply does not fit. In our time working together, I will make every effort to ensure a personalised service that meets your needs and respects your values.
I am experienced in working with people with a wide range of difficulties including depression, stress and burnout, sleep issues and insomnia, generalised anxiety and worry, PTSD, traumatic grief, OCD, health anxiety, social anxiety, body dysmorphia, low self-esteem, specific phobias, panic and agoraphobia, compulsive behaviours and behavioural addictions and emotional regulation difficulties.
My special interests are working with autistic people, ADHD and AuDHD people who may also be struggling with their mental health. We often hear that anxiety and depression are part and parcel of being neurodivergent and this is simply not the case!
I also have an interest in working with people in the perinatal period, during pregnancy and early parenthood. I have experience in helping people to overcome perinatal depression and anxiety, perinatal OCD, insomnia and sleep issues and PTSD following a traumatic birth, pregnancy or baby loss.
I offer a compassionate, personalised therapy service face to face in Whalley Range, or online via Teams. If you would like to book a free 15 minute consultation, please do not hesitate to get in touch. I would love to hear from you and discuss how we could work together!
